INTERNATIONAL MUS-E FESTIVAL - PORTUGAL

Ines Maria Silva

Since 2020, she has been part of the MUS-E Leiria project, as a dance animator. She is currently in the second year of her master’s degree course in dance teaching, at the Escola Superior de Dança, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa.

Catraia

Catraia’s sonority is clearly rooted in tradition but cultivated by their own hands. Fado, Portuguese guitar, drums and popular marches are the ingredients of all melodies with the addition of the melancholy of the south of Portugal, the rhythms of the folk tradition and the spice of the whole Lusophony.

Marta Countinho & Ruca Rebordao

Together they cocreated “AH! AH! AH!”, a dance/music performance for children

I SUPPORT

I used to often go to live concerts and I want to support culture and the arts without having to eat pastas for next days.

I SUPPORT

I think this initiative is amazing and I’d like to watch more exclusive live sessions. Or I’m the mum or dad of a musician performing.

I SUPPORT SMARTLY

I finally understood the principle of tax deduction and I know that for 40 € I will actually pay 22 €.*

Fado, Portuguese guitar, drums and popular marches are the ingredients of all melodies with the addition of the melancholy of the south of Portugal, the rhythms of the folk tradition and the spice of the whole Lusophony.

Active since 2013, the band led by the voice of Inês Bernardo (finalist of the Portuguese Eurovision Contest 2011) has already edited the album “Banda da Catraia”, played in several festivals and auditoriums, opened in 2018 Mariza’s concert in Leiria and have already showed their uniqueness in Spain several times: “Catraia was the revelation of the night with contagious rhythms and the friendliness of the singer (….). Her voice and sweet aesthetic contrasted with the powerful concert of this Portuguese band that reinvents Fado with pop music and presented several songs from their next album.” – in EFE Agency.

This sweet voice is joined by Ricardo Silva on the Portuguese guitar, Rui Amado on the classical guitar, Paulo Bernardino on clarinet, Adelino Oliveira on the double bass, and João Maneta on the percussions.

A show of rich harmonies and cut melodies, rooted in tradition, but modern in expression.

LAST CONCERT : Música Na Bagagem

The International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and the Associação Yehudi Menuhin Portugal are very proud to present “Música na Bagagem”, an exceptional concert consecrating the end of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union and the achievement of the Creative Europe project MUS-E ON STAGE. On June 30 at 8pm on concertwithyou, enjoy this online concert from the Art & History Museum in the iconic Cinquantenaire park in Brussels.

Concert With You

Concertwithyou was born from the need to support musicians who can no longer perform on stage. The pandemic has exposed artists to precarity and giving a voice to musicians who are voiceless is one of the priorities of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation.

Every two weeks, you will discover three artists from different musical universe and genres but just as talented.

More than ever, we need your support to continue helping musicians, maintaining, and developing this platform. Every donation, no matters the amount, will help supporting music. All donations collected will serve at remunerating musicians to produce a video of a song from their repertoire.

Donations of at least 40 euros made to the King Baudouin Foundation give rise to a tax reduction of 45% of the amount actually paid.

Together we can help artist to blossom!

Enjoy the show.
