MUS-E Belgium

This project took place during an autumn holiday with two groups of 5 to 9 year olds at the GC de Rinck local community centre in Anderlecht, Brussels.

Immersed in a captivating week of artistic exploration, the children delved into the theme of ‘I am there, I am not there.’ Guided by the multidisciplinary artist Jeroen Smets, they ventured into the mesmerizing world of self-made instruments, uncovering the rich tapestry of sounds. Simultaneously, Vanessa Minacapelli brought the magic of stop-motion and video to life, adding an extra layer of enchantment to this vibrant creative odyssey.

LAST CONCERT : 30 YEARS, 30 STORIES.

There was a man called Yehudi Menuhin. This man was a famous violinist and humanist of the 20th century who had a dream: to give a voice to the voiceless.
Lord Menuhin dreamed of openness towards others, peace and dialogue. He wanted, for example, all children to be able to sing and dance at school every morning. He also dreamed to see all cultures of Europe represented at the European institutions and their cultural diversity and specificities to be considered.
In 1991, he created the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation to coordinate initiatives and European projects, through which he can realise his dreams.

On this 30 year anniversary of the Foundation, we would like to celebrate with you our missions and what we have achieved, all the people we have reached, all the hearts we have changed.
On this occasion, every Monday, from 11 October 2021 until 17 December 2021, we will share with you 3 stories on www.concertwithyou.com that are symbolic for the Foundation.

ConcertWithYou & UNESDA SOFT DRINK EUROPE

UNESDA Soft Drinks Europe signed a partnership agreement with the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation to support 6 musicians with an opportunity to produce original music video and perform concerts in 2022. This will be part of the Foundation’s www.concertwithyou.com initiative, a streaming concert platform that allows artists to share their music and engage with the public.

Marianne Poncelet, Executive Vice-Present and co-founder of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in Brussels, comments: ‘’We are delighted to establish this cooperation with UNESDA Soft Drinks Europe to strengthen our mission to support the next generation of talented artists. Making our societies more inclusive and united is truly transformative and music is a powerful tool in achieving it. We are grateful to UNESDA Soft Drinks Europe for its commitment to promote artistic excellence and give new artists the chance to contribute to our society with the sound and power of their music. With this partnership, we demonstrate that we can drive change together and make a positive difference in the lives of several artists.’’

Concertwithyou was born from the need to support musicians who can no longer perform on stage. The pandemic has exposed artists to precarity and giving a voice to musicians who are voiceless is one of the priorities of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. You can support this initiative by making a donation to help musicians produce videos of live performance.
